Product Description
Casta® Liquid is a precision liquid phosphorus binder for pre-fresh dairy cows, built on Protekta’s patented CaRT® system — the same proven technology behind X-Zelit®. It is designed for the critical final 14–21 days before calving to help cows transition smoothly into lactation.
By reducing available dietary phosphorus in the rumen, Casta® Liquid triggers a controlled drop in blood phosphorus. This reduces secretion of the bone hormone FGF23, encouraging the natural release of calcium and phosphorus from bone reserves before calving. The result is more stable blood calcium levels at calving, helping to lower the risk of milk fever and subclinical hypocalcemia, while supporting fresh cow performance and health.
Application
- Close-up (pre-fresh) dairy rations
- Daily during the final 14–21 days before calving
- As part of a consistent transition cow program
- 2.1–4.0 lbs per cow per day (as-fed, based on dry matter intake and diet phosphorus level)
